Storage Rules

We have a number of rules and we do not compromise these rules under any circumstances. The rules are in place to protect you and your belongings.
  • Access to the premises
    • 1. An access card with the client’s photo will be issued. The client may authorize additional people to access their unit, and will be required to purchase additional access cards for such persons.
    • 2. Only people with access cards will be allowed to enter the premises.
    • 3. If an access card is lost, a fee will be incurred for a replacement card.
    • 4. All visitors will be required to have their ID book or driving licence scanned on entry. No ID, no entry.
    • 5. Access to the premises is normally 06:00 to 17:45 Monday to Sunday. Special arrangements may be made to access your unit outside of those times on a regular or ad hoc basis.
    • 6. If you attempt to bribe a guard, any amount you offer will be doubled by us as an incentive to the guards; your contract will be cancelled immediately and your goods will be removed out of the storage unit into an open area.
    • 7. All vehicles must have their car licences visibly displayed on the windscreen. Any vehicle that does not have a licence will not be allowed into the storage facility.
    • 8. The speed limit inside within the premises is 10 km/h.
    • 9. For security reasons we do not allow use of the toilet facilities within the office building. A dedicated toilet is available outside.
  • Finance
    • 1. A deposit of one month's rental is payable. On giving up your unit your deposit will be returned 4-8 weeks later, subject to an inspection of the storage unit.
    • 2. If your debit order bounces you will be charged a penalty.
    • 3. If your debit order bounces a second time you will be charged a penalty and we reserve the right to cancel your contract.
    • 4. Your deposit may NOT be used as the last month's fee.
    • 5. If you do not pay the fee you will receive 5 SMS's and 5 emails. We will also attempt to contact you telephonically up to 5 times and a registered letter shall be mailed to your postal address. If you do not respond to these notifications, your property will be removed from the storage facility and placed, unprotected, in the open. As a courtesy we will continue to attempt to contact you, however we will accept no responsibility for damages or loss due to outside storage of your property.
    • 6. We do not accept credit cards for payment.
    • 7. Any presents or donations to our staff must be registered at the office.
  • Storage
    • 1. On certain occasions a member of our staff may escort you to your unit. Our staff will not assist you in moving or packing your goods.
    • 2. You may only park immediately in front of your unit or in a demarcated parking bay.
    • 3. You are required to supply your own padlock for your unit. We will not hold your keys for you.
    • 4. There are no lights or power points in the units to avoid any chance of electrical problems. You may not bring your own lights or operate any electrical equipment, including battery operated equipment.
    • 5. There is good lighting throughout the premises and you can, of course, use your car's headlights and torches.
    • 6. It is not permitted to store chemicals, paints, greases or oils in the units without our express permission.
    • 7. You must supply your own containers. We do not provide boxes or packing materials.
    • 8. Any vehicles stored in the units must be mostly emptied of fuel, retaining only sufficient for driving to a garage. No vehicles may be refuelled on the premises.
    • 9. Washing machines, refrigerators and deep freezes must be emptied before being stored.
    • 10. We carry out regular checks of the exterior of all units. Any visible damage or unsecured unit will be reported to you.
    • 11. If you suspect that another user or member of staff has tampered with your lock or stolen any of your belongings you must report this to the office immediately.
